Welcome back to round 3 of my Luxembourg apartment tour series! I’m sharing our home decorated with natural elements and minimalist beach-inspired decoration. Today my tour walks you through our living room and dining area!
Our living room, dining area, and kitchen are all located in the same space – you can see the main living area the second you step into the entryway, so I tried to keep the overall look as cohesive as possible.
Creating A Calming Affect
I wanted to create a space that was light and airy, but also cozy and inviting. Although the decor is neutral, I played with textures and punched it up with blue accents to add liveliness and a splash of personality to the space.
Also, to optimize the living room and make it as functional as possible, we bought furniture with storage included to maximize our storage space.
Decorating With Natural Elements
As you can see, our living room features natural materials and textures with a warm, modern coastal vibe, a touch of boho, and a lot of greenery. Its windows, east and south-facing exposure let in beautiful natural light.
The Living Room
A lot of furniture and accessories in the living room were bought from Maison du Monde here in Luxembourg. We have the Barcelona linen 3 seaters sofa in white (although it’s filled with down, thus needs to be re-fluffed on a regular basis) it is about the softest sofa we found on the market.
The mango wood coffee table, TV unit, and pouf are also from Maison du Monde. I only got one rug for the space – and while I was tempted to buy another rug, I had to cut back here, but found the perfect “budget” rug for the living room in a shop in France. The side table is from Action and the rattan lamp is from Bali. I got this lamp before even knowing where we were going to live!
The Dining Area
Moving onto the dining area, it’s one of our most-used spaces, that hosts dinners, apéro times, game nights, and laundry folding. It took me two months to pick out a dining table, just because I needed to find the perfect table that fits in the space. I finally picked out this one from Maison du Monde. It’s from the same collection as the TV unit.
I found the chairs on Facebook marketplace, they are designed by the danish brand Magnus Olsen. I honestly couldn’t hope for better chairs to match my decor, and they only cost me a few euros. The bench is from Casa, I wouldn’t necessarily say that it is the comfiest seating option, but we only use it when we have guests.

I love our shelving unit. It does such a great job displaying our books and decor accents, and I think it really completes the space. I put a chair next to it to create a reading nook.
Both the shelving unit and the vase on the table are from the local homeware store Just Home in Gare district. I bought a few items there- so many good finds and run by a lovely woman.
I got the prints – the beach print & the banana tree illustration through Etsy and had them printed at a local photo store.
The Coffee Station
My favorite corner is the coffee bar of course! This cabinet is a very well-used piece. It’s where all the coffee, tea, mugs, and snacks are kept! I got this cabinet from Conforama but unfortunately, it’s not available for purchase anymore.
Thank you so much for stopping by to visit our nature-inspired living room and dining area. I hope you like my Luxembourg apartment tour series! and please let me know if you have any questions.
